Sykesville is a small town in Carroll County, Maryland, United States. The town lies 20 miles west of Baltimore and 40 Miles north of Washington D.C and has a population of 4,436.

The town held a design/build competition for an area known as River Place. The proposed solution created a town square linking to the river and 50,000 square feet of retail and office space.
